Interroll sets up a new Center of Excellence for Software & Electronics to better support system integrators

Interroll announced that it has acquired MITmacher in Linz, Austria. The acquisition of the company will serve as the basis to build Interroll’s new Global Center of Excellence (CoE) Software & Electronics. Besides the respective assets, Interroll takes over a highly qualified team of engineers and experts, which has a strong track record in software development, electronics, mechatronics, and engineering with focus on material handling and IoT.

The new CoE will be designed to assume global and cross-product responsibilities with regard to controls, software and electronics solutions. Within the new setup, the company will continue to support a number of previously existing projects with its consulting expertise.

Andreas Eglseer, the founder of MITmacher GmbH, will be appointed as Managing Director of the new global CoE. The 42-year-old Eglseer, who holds a degree (Dipl.-Ing.) in mechatronics and business management and founded the company at the beginning of 2015, will report to Jens Strüwing, Executive Vice President Products & Technology of the Interroll Group. The company will be renamed to Interroll Software & Electronics GmbH and will continue to operate from new premises in Linz, Austria.

“With a stronger focus on software and electronics, Interroll assumes a greater responsibility in supporting systems integrators by providing an even more modular and sophisticated technology platform in the future. Market demand shows that control and software solutions are playing an increasingly important role for adding value to our customers and end users,” says Jens Strüwing. “That is why we will accelerate our activities on this trajectory and we look forward expanding our competencies with our new Global Center of Excellence Software & Electronics in Linz.”
