EMO 2025 is pushing AI and automation for greater competitiveness in global industry

EMO - For five days, Hannover was the venue for EMO, the world's leading trade fair for production technology. Attracting a number of 80,000 trade visitors from all over the world, the exhibition grounds provided important innovative impulses for greater competitiveness in the industry. The main focus was above all on the topics of automation and artificial intelligence, which have once again found their way into industrial processes as drivers of production efficiency.

Increasing productivity and sustainability in parts manufacturing with Machinum

Siemens - Under the motto "Accelerate transformation for a sustainable tomorrow", Siemens will be presenting at this year's EMO how companies in the machine tool industry can meet energy efficiency and sustainability requirements while at the same time meeting the demand for high-quality, affordable, and individualized products.

E-mobility electrifying the EMO Hannover 2023

EMO - The automotive industry is consistently pushing forward electromobility. This, in turn, has implications for manufacturing technology. More and more intricate and lightweight parts need to be processed. What is the most economical way to machine battery components? What challenges are involved in gear and transmission manufacturing? These and other questions will be some of the key issues at EMO Hannover 2023.

Wireless manufacturing could be standard practice in ten years

VDW - "The hardware for 5G manufacturing solutions will be on the market in two to three years," predicts Jan Mertes from FBK Kaiserslautern. The production research assistant is one of the leaders of the "5G Kaiserslautern" project aimed at exploring different use cases for 5G. "This will enable many more companies to make their production more flexible because it allows them to save considerable amounts of time, effort and costs compared to current practice."

Umati

Productivity.be - Umati - which stands for “universal machine technology interface” - is an OPC-UA accompanying specification that contains a standardized data model to allow industrial machines and software applications to communicate with each other. Using standardized labels, Umati want to define parameters and settings of machines unambiguously so that they become universally recognizable. (updated)
